Key Concepts

This section adds clarity regarding various issues and concepts that are unique to the IConduct platform. The explanations here will resolve any outstanding issues converning syntax; the meaning of certain terms and their usage and any other issue that may need to be resolved.

Alternating Procedures: To deliver on the IConduct platform's promise of flexibility and ease-of-use, the algorithm behind the definition pages (for example – when defining an Export Step) changes the fields so that they match the specific definition you are seeking.  Depending on your choices, fields may appear or disappear, usually in conjunction with a change in the Connector that you are accessing, or the type of access you wish to define. The result is that at times, when following the step-by-step procedures, you will find that the procedures offer you a set of options, based on your current selections. Make sure to follow the instructions that match your selections.

The use of the term "Source [….]":  The IConduct platform connects and manages data in accordance with your wishes.  For this reason, the end-user applications/databases are considered the "Source" even in cases where logistically – they are the target.  For example, when exporting data, you may find fields that indicate Source [something], where they are actually referring to entities in what is in fact, the target of the exported data.
